At the time of writing, I have Firefox open with 44 tabs across 4 windows. It often goes all the way to 60. Not a single sound comes out of the machine.
Ironically, I switched from Vivaldi to Firefox in 1 experiment to lower resource consumption. But it didn't make a difference.
